Batman and Batgirl Read

Today I let the kids pick out a book for their fine reading over the summer. Hannah read over 1,000 minutes in a few weeks. Abe did about 500 with the fam reading to him. I was hoping that looking forward to buying a new book would give them more incentive to read. Hannah loves reading anyways, but especially after she finished her chart, she was excited to read to Abe so he could finish his chart. Both had to be done in order to go to the book store.

Anyhoo... Abe ended up picking this easy reader Super Hero book. We haven't exposed him to many super heroes so he thought it was fun to see them. The kids love dressing up and come up with creative super hero outfits. Here is the end result.

Hannah picked this American Girl book "Meet Kirsten". After reading in bed, she came down acting very glum. She announced the sad event that happened in the book... Kirsten's best friend Marta died. She sure gets sad about things like that in movies and books. Overall, she loves the book. We didn't have any pioneer dress-ups today though!

Speaking of reading, I've been trying to get some books from the library to read. I need to put my feet up more often and rest with this big belly of mine. The Lehi library must be popular and all the books I ever want are checked out with a long wait. So finally I decided to start reading the Work and the Glory series. I read only like 6 (out of 9) when I was a teenager.

This first one was good. It helped me think about INSPIRATION and REVELATION... and my responsibility to be close to the Spirit so that I won't be deceived (in all areas of life - politics, spiritual, worldly philosophies, etc). Seeking Truth is always a good thing! Anyhoo... love a good read!
