thru cloud and sunshine ...

Lately when I think about, hear about, or talk about politics or the economy I get so churned up and tight inside with worry. I know that I THINK way too much, but there are definitely big things goin' on out there - solemn things.

And then there are times I think about, hear about, or talk about good things that are going on and I'm reminded that all is not lost.

This is one such thing I came across tonight when I was in a mood of inner tumult:

Jesus.Christ.org :  Music, Art, and teachings about Jesus Christ.

Other folks sharing testimony through art: Reflections of Christ

We only read 2 scriptures for family scripture study, but this was one that helped me realize that sometimes we can't affect much with the economy or war or state of society, but we can have faith in all that is good and true - in Christ.
"Yea, and how is it that ye have forgotten that the Lord is able to do all things according to his will, for the children of men, if it so be that they exercise faith in him? Wherefore, let us be faithful to him." 1 Nephi 7:12

And after hearing this hymn "Abide with me", I was reminded of the comfort found in our Savior no matter what is going on around us.
Abide with me! fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens. Lord, with me abide!
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, oh, abide with me!

Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day.
Earth’s joys grow dim; its glories pass away.
Change and decay in all around I see;
O thou who changest not, abide with me!

I need thy presence ev’ry passing hour.
What but thy grace can foil the tempter’s pow’r?
Who, like thyself, my guide and stay can be?
Thru cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me!

Very well said. I am right there with you Heather. I have friends that say they are not worried about any of the things you mentioned, and I think that we have been told that we shouldn't worry, just prepare. I am not to that state yet. I still worry about things around me. You are right though, there is SO MUCH good still going around us and we need to remember that. Great post!
