Rodeo Tots

Today is Jimmy's 33rd Birthday. Yay!

The tots had a busy schedule today.
First up - Primary Program Practice with a Pizza Lunch.
Then birthday celebrations for friends.
BYU football game somewhere in there.
Helping this madre peel/freeze peaches.
Last up - ward party at the Freeman Ranch.
Here are the kids all dressed up. Max quite refused to keep his cute cow vest on. I guess he prefers the green necklace. Wait - is that make of Kryptonite?!

The kids got to sit on a tractor, ride on the wagon train, eat hotdogs and drink homemade rootbeer. I sure love homemade root beer. It reminds me of 4th of July's in Logan. Love it!

The kids also kept an eye on the location of all ranch dogs so they wouldn't come near. As for sitting on a horse - they would have none of that. I'm not a huge pet person, but I do love riding horses. But I wasn't about to try and get up on a horse at 8 months pregnant with the entire ward watching.

Overall - it seemed fun for the kids. The did some stick horse barrel racing (Max has quite the gallop) with JImmy as lead (He's got quite a nice gallop too!)

As for the large photo of Max. The boy was so filthy. He nearly ate a chip that fell in the manure filled dirt. Aaak! His hands were about black and I asked him to show me his hands. His expression is sooooo Max!

The tots also had a chance to practice their laso skills. I think she got it - just the wrong end. She sure is pulling hard though - I love her determined expression.

Abe came out conquerer in this challenge I think!
On the drive home I commented that ranchers must have to shower every night instead of morning to keep semi-clean. We sure were covered in dust. I was trying to figure out how they would keep their floors clean with all this Lehi wind and dirt everywhere. The Freelands live in a Lincoln-Log style home that was pretty cool (Abe liked to see the real logs).

Abe said, "What if they had a sign there that said NO DOGS ALLOWED?" Abe says he likes to watch dogs, he just doesn't like them to walk near him. Believe me - he doesn't!!! I told the kids why dogs are needed to help round up the cattle and that they have an important job to keep the cattle together.

Then Hannah asked if those people wanted to live there - like she couldn't believe that they would choose to have horses, goats, dogs, and dirt.

I don't know that Hannah would survive very long as a pioneer girl. Nor would I, because I certainly loved bringing all my kids home, give them showers and baths, wash their filthy clothes in a washing machine, and eat some birthday cake with a cup of cold milk!

Wow, wow, wow! What a blast! You fit freezing peaches in there somewhere?! No wonder you get tired, Heath! But you are doing so great and doing so many things. Hurray for young mothers!

And Happy Birthday, Jimmy! We love your Mission Prep. Blog.
