Queen for a Day

In Hannah's class a King or Queen is selected each day. Today was Miss Hannah's day to be Queen. It's a surprise so she came home elated to tell us all that happened.

She got to wear a crown all day, sit in the teacher's chair, and answer questions from the class. They each made her a drawing.

I'm guessing from the drawings that she told them she loved pepperoni pizza, the Tinkerbell movie, cat as a favorite animal, hopscotch as a favorite thing to do during recess.

Here she is after school playing outside. She and our neighbor were practicing cartwheels and headstands. Later on she and I were outside on the bench swing and she just talked and talked and talked about her friends at school, computer lab, the library. It reminded me of the day in 2006 when she said, "I just really like to talk - all day." I love hearing her thoughts, her excitement about school, her funny friend stories even about crushes.

One can learn a lot when little girls start talking, talking, talking about their life. It's just good to have her share her day with me. It made me realize I need to have more alone time with each of my kids to have random conversations.

So Hannah - enjoy being Queen for the day. There is still work enough to do at home, but know I really appreciate all your sweetness, your cute notes and cards, and your help with chores and the boys. You brighten our lives!
