New glasses for Abe

When we took Abe in for his Kindergarten screening at the Pediatrician, they suggested we double-check his eyes with an optometrist since he seemed to be about 20/40.

Luckily our Bishop is a great (and jolly) optometrist with an office in Lehi. Last week we went to visit him for Abe's eye appointment. He verified that Abe was quite far-sighted in his right eye and would need glasses for school work and reading.

To make a long story shorter, we ended up buying Abe's glasses from Coastal Contacts.com. At the doctors, these cute Nike frames were $250 + $75 for lenses. Through Coastal Contacts, we paid $91 total for both frames and lenses (I found an online coupon for 15% off plus free shipping - score!).

I just think Abe looks so cute in these glasses. I also love the glasses because they have rubber behind the ears to help them stay on for active little tykes like Abe. They are made of Flexon and are pretty bendable so hopefully they won't break as easily.

Abe likes them because they are cool sports glasses with some swoosh thingie (he had no idea what Nike was). He also likes that they are brown. I hope he continues to enjoy wearing them after the novelty of having something new wears off.

I'm crossing my fingers that we can keep them scratch free and in good shape for at least a year. Today Abe was very careful and made efforts to clean them with the lens cloth.

Wish us all luck with this new adventure!
