Pastey White Mom meets Sunshine

Last Monday we headed to the park to meet a dear friend for a few hours. I brought along the sunscreen but in my delight to chat with my friend, I didn't bother smearing lotion on myself (I got Max covered but that's about it).  After all it was early in the morning and the sun isn't that hot - right?!?! ... unless you remember that we live in high altitude and yes, the sun is still hot in the morn.

Soooo ... pastey white mom + 1st spring sunshine = the color fuchsia (arms like the tulips in the header). I'll spare everyone a photo.

Must I keep learning these lessons over and over. I remember once as a tweenie going to Bear Lake and thinking my skin was invincible to sunburn or something silly like that. I laid on a floatie out on the lake and fried my shoulders. No bueno! You would think a blonde would be smarter than that. Ummmm yeah!

I am now equipped with this mighty fine Aveeno Continuous Spray, non-globby, non-greasy, Waterproof, SPF 70 - which came highly recommended by my sis. I've used sprays before but this is the best one thus far.

Now that my arms aren't in too much pain and are a tamer shade of pink, I am finding delight in sunshine once again ... only in moderation with SPF 70.

This quote by Helen Keller reminds me of all that is good in ENJOYing the simple things - such as sunshine.

I also have found the pure joy of the spray sunscreen the spring- I love it. It's the best thing invented. Kids can be covered in 10 seconds instead of 10 minutes!

My legs weren't quite fuchsia, but pretty darn close, after sitting outside for only an hour in the park on Wednesday! I feel your pain. SPF 70 is sounding pretty good!

The Sam comment is actually Diana, because I am trying to help my kids do little blogs. Sorry for the confusion!
