Words: I love words... making up words... reading cool definitions and learning new words. I don't have a huge vocabulary though (which is why I make up words!!). Anyhoo... today was a funny day for words, especially with the kids.
Hannah was talking to me in a very serious tone and said, "she pacifically said..."
Abe was rather excited and said, "Can I do the treadmiller?..."
Max has been saying "SO" in front of lots of words... and he says it with such enthusiasm. "so big. so fun. so silly. so, so, heavy. so cute."
I was telling Abe to be sure to speak clearly for his school program part and I said his part with bold enunciation as an example. He said, "Mom, there is a period at the end, not an exclamation." Too funny.
We were talking about spelling tests at dinner time. Jimmy and I told about words we remember misspelling when we were little. Then the kids starting spelling everything. It was a funny dinner-time conversation.
Music: is my friend this week. I usually don't turn on music just for me because generally the moment I think I'm alone, chaos ensues and my music is washed out by crying or laughter or tv or something. My brain can't handle the overstimulation of so many sounds. But this week during the day when the school kids are gone, I put on some fine tunes for company. I've rather enjoyed it. And this morning the music I was listening to brought tears to my eyes - Paul Potts, Nessun Dorma... touches me even when walking on the treadmill. I feel very deeply about good music. It touches my soul, comforts me, cheers me, cries with me, energizes me. Yes, it's my friend.
The nice mother in me: I guess I'm grateful that she exists at all these days. I like when the nice mother comes out. She usually is her best until 4 p.m. and then when the entire house goes bonkers, nice mother disappears. Today nice mother appeared for a while - afterall, it is Friday which means no intense homework to do. The tots came home. Abe sang me his program songs. Hannah showed me the hoe-down she learned today. Then we all danced and learned the hoe-down with Hannah doing the calling and Truman wandering around us with a blanket over his head. It was comical... but I liked that mom. I hope to see her more often around here.
