Kindof a mellow week with this mama not at top speed physically.
Play day for Hannah with friends Emma and Bella. They made butterfly juice boxes and dressed like twins. Fun times!
Abe got to help make cookies. He did some awesome reading this week. He gets to play the wii for every minute he reads - up to an hour, so he's read oodles! He also does very well tackling his workbook and journal for the day so he can get to his fun play time.
Jimmy took Hannah and Abe with some free tickets to the Orem Owlz baseball game. The kids loved playing on the playset and having the experience with dad!
I mentioned that one day our home became Neverland and everyone was a fairy (according to Hannah). That was a funny day.
The next day, the aliens came to visit. We made playdough aliens. We tried making slime (which we did wrong somehow). But the kids had fun with it anyways. The kids wrote notes to the aliens who were going to visit us in the middle of the night. Not sure where it all came from, but it was quite a difference from Neverland. I love kid's imaginations!
We met Dad for lunch at the new in-n-out burger by his work. The kids love spending time with dad.
I'm sorry to say - but Tru was a royal grouch this week. This baby is so serious and we have to work so hard to pull a smile out of him. I hope it's teething related so that he'll perk up soon. He's still a joy and we cherish those smiles... and those cute 4 teeth he has... just don't let him get your finger or arm... it hurts when he bites.
Tru also turned 10 months this week. And see ... he is smiling!! Yay! He started some new jabber talking this week ... something like "bookah, bookah" which are new sounds for him. We like our Tru even though he is so constant and busy.
And Max... don't forget him. We enjoyed lots of outside play this week since it was such glorious weather. One day the high was 80. It was beautiful. We played in the front for most of the mornings, riding bikes, playing basketball, writing sidewalk chalk. Fun times!
One of my favorite times of the week was last night (saturday) when after a stir-fry dinner, we went outside and played together. We played Beachboys Surfin' USA and the kids just ran around and loved it! We were probably the annoying neighbors of America with music blasting, but it was a fun family time.
And Sundays - usually the Smith kids come over... Julie (with Brock), Paul, and John. Tonight Julie had some last minute wedding stuff to sew. It's always fun to sit around and chat. Hannah presented her primary talk on the miracles of Jesus. Abe said the 2nd article of faith. Max led us in Follow the Prophet. Fun random moments!
Summer is coming to a close. Sigh... 1 1/2 more weeks until school starts. We got to find out the kids teachers and see who is in their class. We are hopeful for a fantastic school year!
