Halloween is by far my least favorite holiday. I love Autumn and all the festivities - but
Halloween - not so much! It seems extremely pointless. I'd rather buy my kids bags of candy than send them off to
Trick-or-Treat. I'm the Halloween
grinch that way. I will take some witch socks, skinny ankles, and converse shoes like the photo above though.
I do think it's fun to see the excitement in the kid's eyes after they are all dressed up. They love the sparkles, the imagining, the costumes.
This year we've got a
batman and a
ballerina. Abe finally realized that store bought costumes look way cooler than my homemade costumes. Sigh... He loved his batman costume
(which I like because it doubles as jammies)
And they are off - with daddy as escort.

Max stayed home with me and Truman due to an ear infection. I'd have to say that it really doesn't work too swell to be in charge of nursing the baby and handing out candy. After about 15 minutes I turned off the lights and hid upstairs to feed baby.
Max tried to swipe all the suckers out of the candy bowl. I think he only had 5 or 6. Oops!

Good for you - turning off the light and hiding out. I think it is okay to not give out candy. Only a third or less of our neighborhood was home giving out candy, and even with so little people participating my kids got more than enough. My favorite part of halloween is seeing everyone dressed up.
The crazy thing about living here in Florida (we did end up moving here to Naples) was it being humid on Halloween - The kids were so hot in their costumes.
I hear you on Halloween. It is pointless. I can't understand how people can say it is their favorite. I am glad it is over. Now for Thanksgiving and Christmas. The best time of year!
Mmmm, candy. My kids were glad to not have to wear their winter parkas like when we were in Idaho! I also beg off on Halloween. Fun to see your photos!
