"The only constant is change."

Heraclitus, the Greek Philosopher said that. I'd agree that life is full of change... change... change. I'd disagree that it is the ONLY constant, but that would be for another discussion.

Remember how I was just settling into my little life in 2009 and thinking that CHANGE was behind me. Not so, my dearie.

Today they took/gathered/relocated 90 of us folks out of our ward to give to the small ward. So now the old ward will have 500 people instead of 600. And our new ward will have 400 instead of 300.  Such is the life of being in a new construction neighborhood, I suppose.

I guess I'll just have to get used to change. Heavenly Father must not want us to get settled in our comfort zone. New friends, new callings, new primary classes, new building, new adventures (I remind myself).  The good thing about this change ... we may actually have a chance at getting a seat in the chapel.

One thing I always am aware of when I'm the new gal in the ward, is how much I appreciate kind words or smiles from others. Today a few gals were so kind to say they would miss us - even though we've only been here for 6 months. It's nice to have people care about ya, isn't it! Thanks girls!

“There are three constants in life... change, choice and principles.” Stephen R. Covey

So I guess we'll focus on the most important constant -  the Gospel of Jesus Christ - and choose to see this change as an opportunity to get to know more new friends.  One of these days change may not be hard for me.  We shall see.

p.s.  the change Max may never get used to is 11 o'clock church.  Man - that's a hard time for a one-year-old.  It pretty much clobbers nap and lunch.  arg!

That was my motto for today! I got a new calling today that surprised me and the Relief Society President that I used to be a counselor to. Primary, here I come!

I think moving around and having the chance to be the new person helps me to be a little kinder and more outgoing when new people move into a ward. That's been really good for me.

I know I will for sure miss you and your cute family. And I am with you on 11am being a tough time for church with the little ones, 1pm would be so much worse for us but it did make me appreciate 9am! I hope the new ward knows how lucky they are to have you guys.
