I decided to brave the game once again

Tonight the kids really wanted to play Charades, the very dangerous game. I very carefully and non dramatically acted my parts. Luckily I didn't injure myself 'putting on a backpack', 'playing marbles', 'blowing a kiss', or being a 'cloud.'

It really is a fun game. Because I'm pretty bad at acting things out, the kids version is best for us all.  (Don't ask me to act anything out in front of anyone besides my kids pa-lease!  you'll regret it!... or maybe I'll regret it!)

The kids are so funny when they try and act stuff out. And for Hannah who is learning to read, she acted out "Talking" instead of what was written of "Taking a shower." She opted for the photocards after that. But it's fun and the kids hardly ever fight when we play compared to other games (key word: hardly).

I wanted to have a back-up for when our inevidentably will be crunched or smashed by the babe or tots so I typed up some of the best cards. The Real Charades has 3 different charades on one card and then you roll the die to see which one you act out. The first one always has a photo so it is what the kids who can't read act out each time. My Word Document version doesn't have the photos but just the words.

{This is the version} I bought at Kohls (66% off right now). I think Amazon has the full-blown version by Pressman.

Another game we like is {Household Scavenger Hunt} for Kids.

Here are the links I created for each games. They are in Word .doc format so you can edit or add your own stuff.  They are pretty plain but it might give you ideas to create your own fun version.

What are some of your favorite games to play with little ones? We always need ideas of games that work!

what great games! I love them! I am excited to try them, thanks for sharing!

We got that exact Charades Game for Christmas and had a blast playing it.

Bacon favorites: Clue Jr. (Who Ate the Cake), FamilyFun Game (by Cranium), Go Fish, Slap Jack, and Blink.

I love playing games, but I have to admit that more often than not it is quite taxing. Teaching rules. Consoling hurt egoes. Trying to love the baby who wants to play but will only destroy the game. It is always nice when you can find one that everyone enjoys!
