Cradle Cap is NOT our friend

Mighty Max is suffering from a flaky case of cradle cap. Any ideas on how to solve this dilemma? Because his hair is so long, it is hard to scrub his scalp and all the flakeys get stuck in his glorious hair. One idea I read about was letting Olive Oil soak on the scalp for a few hours and then use that soft bristle brush for infants to scrub off the crud. If you have any ideas, please share.

I had a pediatrician tell me to use Head and Shoulders. It works. I have used it on all of my babies. Give it a try.

My pediatrician recommended using baby oil and then Selsun Blue when you wash his hair to get it under control, and then just Selsun Blue to keep it maintained. So far, it's worked really well for my son. Good luck! :)

We call it (excuse the language) cradle CRAP! We just hardly ever bathe Brennan... Kinda gross, but we do wipe him down daily. The natural oils on his head is supposed to help, and washing his hair too often won't allow the natural oils to do their stuff... I don't know, who does?

Kyler had it when he was a baby and his pediatrician had me use T-
Gel shampoo. It smells like tar but helped clear it up. Good luck with whatever you decide to use!

Put some baby oil in his hair to let it soak into the flakey stuff then use a brush or comb or the best thing is one of those soft sponge/brush things that may have come in your maternity bag from the hospital. The doctors use them to "scrub up" on TV. Anywho, use that to comb it out of his hair and then to maintain... I would guess listen to the other gals and use dandruff shampoo. But don't get it in his eyes... OUCH!
