Thanksgiving 2007

Our day began with our cheerful morning girly Hannah waking us with a chipper, "Happy Thanksgiving." Jimmy made us some totally tasty German Pancakes. Mom attempted to braid Hannah's hair and then gave her a manicure (she sure loves Satin Hands) and new red nails. Dad then suggested a nice bath for me to relax (nice idea hon - thanks!). The kids colored Thanksgiving pictures. We zoomed out to pick up our friend James to head over to our friends, The Harmers, for lunch. We enjoyed some fun company and really tasty food. We relaxed later at home and now the kids are snoozing in bed and we're off to finish Narnia. A quick but pleasant Thanksgiving Day! We feel so grateful to have good friends, a loving family, and so many other unnumerable blessings!

"Look at my newly painted fingernails!" (she can see them - I suppose!)

"But mom, my eyes are too tired for any more pictures."

Our friend James Walker from church. Jimmy has been teaching him literacy lessons over the past year or so.

At preschool, each of the kid's in Hannah's class was asked HOW TO COOK A TURKEY FOR THANKSGIVING DINNER. Here is Hannah's response, "Go to a farm and get a turkey. Make it hot in the oven. It has to be 100 minutes in the oven. Let it cool off. Then you can serve it and eat it."

Wow. . . how often does that happen. . . a spa day on a holiday? What a great emotional treat to go along with all that great food. You are so good to invite someone to your feast!!!

Sounds like you had a wonderful day. Cute kiddos. My boys were like Abe all day yesterday turning away and ducking their heads for all the pictures. Little stinkers! How fun to give Hannah a manicure and then enjoy a bath. Maybe next year you can let Hannah cook the turkey! Sounds like she's got it down. :)
