This is my daddy

Happy Birthday Pops! Today my dad turned 65. Hasn't he always been a handsome fellow? I made this heritage page a while ago and I know I've shared it on the bloggie before. But I just wanted to pay tribute to my father and share a few memories.
- Saturday trips to the dump with a Maverick Mug full of pop. That dump sure did stink but it was always fun to drive with dad and sing funny songs like 'to the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump, dump' in his red truck.
- Visiting dad at work at Ricks College was always fun. Besides all the fun rollerskating, bowling, and video game activities, he spent many an hour helping me print out school reports up at work, when I'm sure he would have rather been resting at home. Thanks Dad!
- Dad used to dance with us to 'It Never Snows in L.A.". I'm sure we were really silly but he was nice to let us do flips off his legs and to tell us what we looked like when we played the 'freeze statue' game.
- Throwing noodles on the chandelier during dinner to see if they would stick. I still remember that one. And slurping tapioca with a straw. What memories!
- When I was 12 and my dad introduced me in New Beginnings, he gave me a yellow rose with a letter. I loved that he did that. And I'm not sure who cried more during his talk - him or me. We're both tender-hearted emotional people and I love that about my dad.
- There are so many more memories, but one last thing I want to share is that I really appreciate my dad's sensitivity to the Spirit and his wise counsel that he kindly shares with his family. Both his and my mom's example of faith and testimony has been such a powerful force in my life. He has accomplished so many amazing projects and tasks and jobs, but the best of all those is his role as a father. I love you Daddy-o! Happy Birthday!
