"But I don't want to wet my whistle"

These were some of the parting words from Abraham as I tucked him into bed tonight. This week Jimmy has been giving the kids just enough water before bed to 'wet their whistle'. Hannah was quite confused until Jimmy explained and then she thought it such a funny saying. I guess Abe just didn't need to whistle himself to sleep tonight. This week he did learn to clip-clop his tongue. It took lots of practice and watching Hannah do it, but he finally mastered this talent. Hannah's been working on patting her tummy and jumping on one foot.

Another adventure this week (that probably doesn't need to be noted but will nontheless) is Abraham deciding to stand up when using the potty. He's such a shorty so we taught him about sitting but he must have seen other little friends at preschool doing it the other way. He was quite proud of himself for grasping this idea on his own. Way to go buddy!

On Friday night we drove up to the Memphis temple (only about 30 minutes). It seems like every time we have taken the kids, the gates are closed so we decided to go on a Friday. The grounds are so small but the kids thought it was fun to walk around the temple and see the stain glass windows. The kids loved sitting on the bench and singing 'I love to see the Temple' and 'I am a Child of God.'They peeked into the front doors so they could see inside. A member of the temple presidency asked if they would like to come into the waiting room and have a mint. Hannah thought that was about the most glorious privilege. She said the waiting room was beautiful. Hannah didn't enjoy the mint (see photo of her and Jimmy on stairs for nice icky mint face), but she loved going into the temple. And she said, "Isn't Angel Moroni so beautiful?"

There is a stake center (that I think is actually larger than the temple) in the same parking lot, so we let the kids ride around on their bikes for a bit. Abe kept stopping at the same spot and waving hello with such a funny grin. It was a fun family activity to go see the temple.

It's so nice to live close to a temple! What a fun evening for your family. My kids love to go to the temple too, we need to go back!

Hey, that's a great trip. I'm glad the kids felt like it was okay to enter the grounds this time as the gates were finally unlocked. Cool they got to go in the waiting room too. Nice job.

Wow, what a neat family time. That is a great idea. I love that Hannah has so much reverence and honor for the temple already in her young life. And you are looking great Heath! You don't look big enough to be 8 months pregnant. You are so cute! What a beautiful family.
