The Grouchy Mom
My poor family has had to deal with an Oscar the Grouch mom the past few days. Today Hannah told me that she knew that I didn't want her asking me things when I am upset and so she was waiting until the best time to talk to me. I think she figured my grouchy spell was subsiding at that point. I keep trying to blame pregnancy hormones on my grouchiness, but I probably just need to try a little harder to be a little kinder. I've been trying to avoid sugars and carbs today since I have my 1-hour glucose test in the morning (and with my other pregnancies I've failed the 1-hour but passed the 3-hour), but honestly limited food selection does not bring cheer to my heart or stomach. May tomorrow be a brighter day so that this grouchy mom will transform into something more pleasant like Big Bird or Mr. Snuffleupagus or Super Grover.

Awww, Heath, I'm sorry about your grouchy day. (Loved your photo of "The Grouch.") Some days are just like that, huh? You'll have to plan a pass-the-glucose-test party and serve something with glucose, yes? Always makes me feel better! Hang in there. We love ya!
my vote is for elmo. . . as you would say, "He's always so cheery!" Good luck with the glucose. . . I hope you pass just so you can save yourself the trauma of the three hour test. I love you friend. (FYI: I feel sicker today than Friday but no disasters so life is good!)
I TOTALLY know what you mean! Unfortunately, I have more grouchy days than I would like. I think its from being very overwhelmed with everything going on. I need to remind myself that there is NO WAY I will get everything done or caught up - so just slow down and enjoy the process! Good luck on your test today. I HATED that thing!
Ha! I like your comparisons...perfect!
Although I totally understand how you feel, I hope you feel better soon. *B
You're so funny. I really don't like grouchy days either, and I have them more often than I wish. Good luck with the food glucose test things. That's hard when you're starving all day! I had one of those days yesterday and I'm not even pregnant! I really think I gained 10 pounds in New York. I ate like a horse the whole trip. Good luck for a better day today!
heather,
I can hardly beleive you were grouchy. We all have those days and mine were definately worse when I was prego. Good luck on your glucose test!
I've always wanted to be Super Grover! That's a better option for all of us--too bad Oscar is the natural man surfacing!!!
Ha, ha, Heather.. this one made me laugh ..Hannah is such a sweet, gentle, observant little one. Arianne would have been much more blunt and impatient with me.
....and either your mood had subsided by lunchtime today or you are a real good faker! I had fun at Newks with you.
Glad you are human Heather! At least you are cute about it when you are grouchy. Great picture of Oscar! Love it.
Sometimes I feel like you have read my journal and then made a post out of it. I totally feel what you are going through and as the other said, I don't know if you've ever been grouchy. And have I told you how much i LOVE your blog!!! Stelene and I really really liked your previous post about what you learned at Stake Conference. It is EXACTLY what I needed to hear. I hope you are feeling better soon. I am VERY grouchy when I constantly feel icky. Have a good day!
Abby
