Sweet and grateful

Today Jimmy was about the nicest dad ever. He made us german pancakes for breakfast. Then he took the kids away so I could have some quiet time - sigh... ahhhh ... a peaceful house. I walked on the treadmill and it felt good to get my legs moving. Jimmy heard on the radio that if you took your kids to the mall dressed up like princesses or princes, they would get a free ticket to Disney Princess on Ice. We had wanted to take Hannah to that for a special outing but we figured even with the cheapest tickets and parking, it would be more than we ought to spend.

Anyhoo...so he brought the kids home and we fancied Hannah up looking kindof like Cinderella. Abe dressed up as Cowboy Woody. Jimmy took the kids to the mall and they scored 4 free tickets to the ice show (2 for dressing up & 2 from the newspaper who wanted to take pictures of the kids). The kids were most immediately excited about the free icecream cone coupons to Sonic. So we still have to cash in the complimentary passes for tickets and even though I'm sure we'll be in the nosebleed section, I hope it works out to go and that Hannah has a fun time. She loved just dressing up and decorating a crown and getting a disney princess frame from spinning the wheel and walking in the princess parade. So - thanks Jimmy for a totally fun morning for the kiddos. I don't know that I would have gone through the effort or had the courage to take the kids on that adventure.

And when the fun day was done, Hannah drew some cards for mom and dad (a drawing of us on our wedding day), tidied our bed, found a sprig of fake flower to put in a vase, put blankets and stuffed animals on our bed. She said that because we had done so many nice things for her today, she wanted to do something special for us. I was glad that she was sweet and grateful.
