One of my friends has this quote on her wall in those
vinyl letters. This quote is an especially good one for me today to remind me that our
attitude and
perspective about our ordinary life can make all the difference in finding
joy ... or misery. Not that I've had the worst day ever, but this morning Abe had an accident on the carpet and Hannah wrote on the carpet with a crayon (and yes, this 4-year-old knows better than that). So our
steamvac got a workout today. Today's events are pretty ordinary (and ornery) for mothers of small kiddos and I suppose calming down to handle the situation is the best thing to do instead of becoming
irate and a grouch. Too bad that the natural man thing to do is become a grouch. Thankfully I have little positive reminders from the scriptures or quotes of what kind of mother I can be or ought to be...now all I have to do is keep
pluggin' along and enjoy and endure...
happily. Can you tell I'm encouraging and
convincing myself not to be a grouch?

I completely understand becoming a grouch. While Matt was gone, Hallie was the biggest fit throwing pill I have ever seen. Way to go on trying to be up-beat and positive.
