The Blue Marker Birthday

I'm not sure if you can see it well in this picture, but today for my birthday Abe surprised us all by coloring his room blue. Yes, he was quiet during his quiet time, but he was full of mischief coloring his carpet, boxspring, hands, face, shirt, pants, books, leappad, sippy cup, legos, sheets blue with a marker. THANKFULLY it was a washable marker and mostly came out of everything. I don't think he was really trying to be naughty, he was probably just discovering the amazing nature of markers and that they color on all sorts of textures. But I hope he realized his mistake and what big trouble he was in.

But overall, I had a nice birthday. I ran on the treadmill while Jimmy made German Pancakes. They were tasty! Hannah had come up with a present all by her self and wrapped it in her pink flowered shirt. It was a frame. That was the sweetest thing for her to try so hard to do something on her own. While Hannah had play group and Abe was babysat at a friends, I went to get my hair trimmed. That was a nice welcome break. Then the blue marker escapades. But then had some nice conversation with family over the phone. Then a quick attempt to tidy the house. Jimmy showed up with beautiful roses (called Lipstick with yellow and coral). I love them! And our babysitter brought a bunch of cupcakes with happy birthday written on them. Sweet of her. Then Jimmy and I went out for dinner to Firebirds. I got a sa-weet BLT salad for $5.25. Jimmy got a steak and we shared. Then we came home and folded laundry. So, it was a nice day! I am now 31. And yes, I think I finally feel like my age. I am looking like a mom these days and I don't look like I'm 20 anymore. I suppose that is okay for that is reality. And I LOVE being a mom and a wife, so it's all good. See y'all tomorrow!
