The big TEN weekend celebration

This weekend has been one I've looked forward to for a long, long time... ever since Jimmy suggested the idea in the summer. We have never left the kids overnight but circumstances worked out to have Julie & Brock watch the tots. The kids did well - even Truman.

Wait - so what did we do?

We spent 1 night in SLC away from the tots. Most of the time I felt completely silly because we were 30 minutes away from home, yet we were staying in a hotel. But - it was good... and fun... to be alone ... together. I enjoyed talking to, being with, running around the city with, going to the temple with, holding hands with... MY LOVE ... with no interruptions (except for that one 7:30 a.m. phone call).
10 years ago on our wedding night we stayed at Little America, but we had an outside garden room which wasn't quite what we were expecting. It was fine... but chilly. The room we had this weekend was nice and larger.... a pleasant clean place. The food was fantastic. We splurged and went to a movie. We ran around town and saw the lights. It was fun!... a much needed get-a-way that made me want to have another 24 hours with Jim.  But alas, we came home to the tots who were quite missing their parents.  We do love them, but it's nice to have a little rejuvenating time too!  Thanks my love for the fun time!

There's nothing like a little getaway. And you shouldn't feel silly at all. Whenever we have a chance to do something like this, we would choose to go close because you have to make the most of each and every hour. Less traveling and more playing. So glad you got to do it!
