poor tru. he's got a snoggy nose cold.
Here he is with tear-stained cheeks from his runny eyes, a boogie nose, swollen gums from teething, and a horribly messy shirt from the smoothie I thought he'd enjoy (which immediately dribbled from his mouth because it was too cold).
This afternoon when i took this picture I thought of all the times I told myself as a teenager that my kids wouldn't have gross gooby noses (of course I would wipe it to keep it clean) and they wouldn't have stinky bottoms (because of course I'd bathe them nightly) and they wouldn't have old food on their shirts (because we would use bibs or change their clothes). Little did I know...
I try. I really do.
As a mother, I now realize it's practically impossible to keep little noses completely clean when they have a cold - even with the aid of benadryl. Their little noses get so sore from wiping or being wet. It's very sad. Tru has such a cute little barky voice too. Poor little guy.
As for stinky bottoms... well... that's part of life I'm afraid. You can bathe a child and 2 seconds later they make full use of their clean diaper. I am eternally grateful for disposable wet wipes and diapers though.
Anyhoo... I did love changing him out of this wet shirt into a snuggly outfit. And then I washed his face with a soft warm rag. He was a brand-new man... well, baby!
Feel better soon little Tru!
