jimmy's day - he's 34

today is jimmy's birthday.
he's 34 now. yay!
we got to go on a date - yes, a real date, last night.
it was nice to be able to eat and chat without kids to tend to.
julie and brock were nice enough to do the tending.

we had a gift certificate to Texas Roadhouse so we made good use of that. i love their rolls and posted about a recipe I tried today on the family recipe blog...

then we headed to the adult stake conference session. i don't think we've attended that together for years. we always have to take turns. it was nice. love one another. be kind to your spouse. don't wear flip-flops... all that kinda stuff.

then we went to walmart to buy loads of diapers and formula which cost lots of pennies. most of the people there were in church clothes which was funny. go stake conference in utah!

anyhoo... a date with jimmy. it was nice. i liked it. gotta do that more often.

the kids made cards this morning and gave jimmy coupons as presents. hannah gave him a coupon for 2 songs (the photo above is hannah singing to jimmy... follow the prophet), a game of basketball, and a good backrub. abe gave him a coupon for a game of basketball.

today we celebrated with the smiths. julie, brock, paul, jill (the girlie friend), and john came. we had loads of yummy roast, mashed tators, cooked carrots, homemade texas roadhouse rolls, tasty jell-o, and chocolate cake.

we skyped with grandparents (happy grandparents day!!!) and put the kids in bed early, early, early... only to have both oldest tots awake 1 1/2 hours later. Stink.

overall, a nice autumn day full of constant chaos with 4 kids... this is our life.
we still like it.  yes, we do.

we sure love jimmy. he's a good, good man to put up with all of us.
