Work Wednesday Randomness

Today is WORK Wednesday. I've declared it as such every Wednesday all summer long. Wednesday rolls around and I mysteriously feel like doing some big fun activity outside the house... like the planetarium or aquarium or something... anything... other than WORKing/Cleaning at home with 4 tots.

But I stuck to my plan today and WORK we have done.

1- kitchen floor. lemonade splattered all over the place. it was really quite amazing that Abe could spill it in all the random spots i felt stickiness. So - mop the floor he did. LOVE my Don Aslett mop, by the way. It adjusts and is sturdy and I like the mop pad. Close supervision was definitely necessary so Abe wouldn't slip on the wet spots (which only happened once!... oops!).

2- Max is WORKing on his chopsticks skills. He can grip grapes and noodles and get them to his mouth. Go Max!

3- Hannah is WORKing on growing in her teeth. She has 3 teeth that are halfway in. She also did some good WORK unloading the dishwasher and keeping Tru out of mischief while I helped Abe mop.

4- I'm WORKing on keeping up with Truman. It honestly could snatch up all my time each day. Last Wednesday, I looked over to see my wee little baby most of the way up the stairs. Aaak! Not safe. Truman needs to WORK on being safe.  But he is WORKing on growing more teeth - as indicated by his sour mood and constant grinding of his 4 front teeth.

5- I WORKed on school shopping today. Yes, it's WORK for me! I wasn't about to go shopping with all the tots and I didn't want to mess with it any longer. So - - 13 pairs of jeans from Old Navy.com for $125 should take care of 4 tots for at least 6 months (hopefully!).  The jeans were half off, plus I got $16 worth of online discounts/free shipping.  I thought it a good day's WORK and a great deal to get them for less than $10 each including tax.

6- Jimmy is working on keeping the garden alive. We had oodles of zucchini last year, but this year we have some funky thing going on... really - who kills zucchini? This was from a while ago, but we have lost 2 plants that completely wilted in a day - something about moth larvae - gross! Jimmy is diligently tending to the garden so hopefully we'll get some tomatoes. We hardly planted anything this year as our energy level was low. But at least we're making efforts - eh?

7- Does this count as WORK? slightly? maybe? ... creating a Book of Mormon Stories quiet book. That's fun stuff really.

8- The weather is WORKing on a marvelous thunderstorm outside. I dance with joy when we receive rain in Utah - pretty much like the Windows of Heaven pioneer movie. My kids asked why I said I was grateful for the rain in the morning prayer. I love rain! It's blowing, thundering, hailing, and raining. Hope the Zucchini survive!

alrighty - onto real WORK in the real world of housekeeping and mothering.  As hard as I think my days are sometimes, I really do love my blessed, ordinary life.

Hmm, I love the Book of Mormon stories--that looks so cool. Nice shopping genius, Heath! How fun to grow up in your family--you tell the kids I said that!
