Another busy summer week.
Flag Day: colored flags, pledge of allegiance, flag cake, fhe with cousins.
Truman is 8 months and did much better real crawling on knees. He's loud, and wiggly, and bossy, and oh so cute.
Journals: I love reading what the kids write in their summer journals. Their spelling is so "OSOM". It's cute to see what their little minds think about.
Travel Tuesday to Argentina... sponsored by Jimmy. Empanadas with beef filling, Milanesas (breaded fried steak - very healthy! ~ NOT.), homemade dulce de leche.
Water Bottles... I love these camelback bottles. We got them last summer on the Super Sale at REI. Each person has their color and they keep track of it. They are responsible for filling it up and bringing it along on walks, errands, hikes, etc. It has helped us drink WAY more water. So fun and colorful!
Workbooks: The kids are pretty good at doing their workbooks. They both like Math. Hannah started into intro-multiplication this week and thought it was fun.
Quiet time: We are VERY consistent about quiet time (mostly because it helps me regroup and survive the rest of the day). Max took naps almost every day this week. AMAZING! Abe has really been loving CARS lately and plays with his CARS whenever he can. He loves this photo because he can see the eyes on his cars. Hannah reads or watches a movie while resting during her quiet time.
Bathtime: I love this photo of the boys in the bath. I need to find the similar one with Jimmy and his brothers.
Primary Activity: Scripture Olympics. I helped with the Title of Liberty Obstacle Course. The kids had a lot of fun throwing marshmallows at Goliath, getting the animals on the ark, digging for plastic knives in sand (anti-nephi-lehies), and blowing Nephi's boat across the ocean, throwing water balloons at Samuel the Lamanite, and popsicles.
DeMordaunt Cousins (from Ohio) spent a few days with us. The kids had fun. Mae was so nice to Hannah and let her sleep in the same room. Hannah thought it was really cool. They played beanie babies. Mae was so sweet to give Hannah one to play with. We went to BYU (though my family was a near disaster). We ate yummy food thanks to the DeMordaunts. We also went on a lovely drive/walk up Little Cottonwood canyon. We went to the top near Alta Ski Resort. There was still snow! The kids had a fun time with that. Amy's teens were helpful with our little ones. Abe and Max were always so excited to see Trev & Jim. More photos to come in the near future.
Father's Day: Honestly I think Jimmy did more for me than I did for him today. Oh - I tried. I did... but getting everything done that I wanted didn't go so well with kids needing help. We had mini egg mcmuffins with bacon, cinnamon rolls, and OJ. It was so-so. Today I especially realized how awesome Jimmy is to be a fun dad and a great help around the house. I sure love that guy! It was fun to talk with our dads on Skype. They are good, good men!
