Memorial Day 2010

We had beautiful weather today on Memorial Day (it's about time!). Hannah, Tru, and I headed up to a cemetery in Bountiful where my grandparents are buried. It was nice to have my mom tell Hannah about some of our relatives buried there. Even little Larry - I mean little Tru got to be there for it and sit by the military cross of my Grandpa Nelson (some of us think Truman looks like my Grandpa Nelson... especially in his mouth). My grandpa served in WWII and was in the Navy for years. I remember that he loves America! He would get tender talking about it.

Hannah got a fun surprise and went on a drive to the Bountiful temple with my dad. He told her stories and played some fun music (Grandpa Price style music). He drove her by President Uchtdorf's home... and the home where my family lived before I was born. I hope she remembers it always. Truman got to take a turn at the wheel too.

We came home and had a simple hamburger feast. The boys loved their hotdogs. The corn was the first of the season. I love our picnic table and being able to enjoy the outdoors while eating.

You may wonder what the photo is of all that stuff on the table. I just had to take it. This is a common sight (ok - maybe like twice a year). Jimmy is a handy guy and often gets out his engineering tools to sauder (he has fixed tv remotes this way). I think this stuff was in preparation for a scouting activity for this week... something about electricity and light bulbs. Looks like he rewired it all. Anyhoo... just a fun memory of all the projects Jimmy takes on.

Oh - and that last picture is of Tru... do you see what he found? He was reaching up and digging his hand in our fake plant. He's inch-worming along these days... more on that later.
