We do love Abe!

This is Abe.

He is 5 but is excited for his birthday in May.

He likes to practice sports. A few weeks ago it was basketball. This weekend it was baseball... until the bat broke.

He also has been practicing jumprope and hula-hooping.

He has such a sincere hearty laugh.

He is friendly.

He likes noodles. If we don't eat them every day, he thinks we haven't had them in "forever."

He has 2 really good friends at school that he loves to play with - Jacob & Garrett.

He is good at building legos.

He is doing a great job with reading. He can read (with a little help) at family scripture time.

He loves to play with Truman.

He is a deep, deep sleeper. Mostly a good thing unless he needs to go potty.

He does not - I repeat - does NOT like dogs.

He is fun.

The other night at family home evening we talked about the Book of Mormon and the other scriptures. Jimmy asked the kids to share one of their favorite scriptures or scripture stories. Abe finally found the book of Jacob (the name of one of his good little buddies) and just randomly picked a verse which he claimed was his favorite. And - it was a good one.
"And it came to pass that the servants did go and labor with their mights; and the Lord of the vineyard labored also with them; and they did obey the commandments of the Lord of the vineyard in all things." Jacob 5:72
Mostly it was funny how insistent he was that he had a favorite scripture and that it was one he had never heard or read before. But I loved the message of it - so perfect for a little boy... to work hard for the Lord and obey the commandments. So good.

Abe. What a guy. He looks smart. And knows a good scripture when he reads it!
