“Winter is the time for comfort,
for good food and warmth,
for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire:
it is the time for home. ”
-Edith Sitwell
I completely agree about the food. I love baking in the wintertime. My waistline and wii fit scale do not like it.
I'd love a fireplace to cozy up to (a safe one for the tots that wouldn't get hot... I can dream!). I'd love to sit and hold hands and talk by the fire (and drink hot chocolate, of course).
I agree with Edith... there is something good about winter.
(p.s. I don't know that Edith had a 2-year-old who needed to run outside and get that built-up boy energy out - but I still love Edith for the pleasant thoughts she shared.)

"There is a privacy about [winter] which no other season gives you. . . .
In spring, summer and fall people sort of have an open season on each other;
only in the winter, in the country,
can you have longer, quiet stretches when you can savor
belonging to yourself."
Ruth Stout
I like this Ruth Stout. She's right. We can enjoy the solitude of cozying up at home with our family.
So wintertime can be about HOME and FAMILY.
Thank you Edith and Ruth for your positive thoughts on Wintertime.

yes this edith lady is positive...but I am so sick of winter.
I want to cozy up to my family in the sunshine and eat watermelon and not worry about getting cold at night because we turn the thermostat way down...
I am done winter. :)
