The Cutest little Homemade Chocolate Bowls

Tonight we attempted to make this Chocolate Mousse recipe I saw demonstrated at Relief Society Recipe Group the other night. She made it look so easy.

Yeah, next time we're going with the semi-homemade chocolate pudding with cool whip recipe. It was fun to try, but instead of being fluffy, it was soupy. I had to abandon my grand ideas for piping the mousse into the cups (using the ziplock bag with the cut corner method). And I also had to do without strawberries (that the culinary artist demonstrator diagonally sliced and fanned on top of the mousse with a sprig of mint) since they were $5 for a tiny container.... not worth it.

Anyhoo...

Now the chocolate bowls - those were fun to make.
1. Melt chocolate chips
2. Dip the bottom part of a water balloon in the chocolate until it has a nice thick coat
3. Let it drip-drain a bit and then put in the fridge until hardened.
4. Pop the balloon (it will peel right out) and wah-lah! ... a mini little chocolate bowl.
Hannah had a fun time helping me with this project. At one point she said, "This is the grossest thing ever." (referring to the eggs) But then she liked the taste of everything by the end.

looks good to me! I didn't even try because I was the only one who wanted it, and who can eat a whole bowl of mousse?
