Thanksgiving - Elementary School Style

Today the kids participated in Snow Springs Elementary Thanksgiving festivities. They both ran in the Turkey Trot Race. Abe said he came in 2nd amongst the Kindergarten boys. Hannah had a fun time running with the 1st grade girls too.

Hannah had a Thanksgiving program with oodles of songs and lots of speaking parts for the kids. We got a kick out of her drawing of the pilgrims on the Mayflower. Hopefully this didn't really happen!Hannah was an Indian girl and does pretty well at her Indian dance.
Hannah's gratitudes this week:
School
Hugs and Kisses
Books
Backpacks
Friends that are nice
Oinky

Abe had a Thanksgiving feast complete with popcorn, cookies with m&m's, ham, cheese, and rolls. Here's his pilgrim costume. He came home the other day so excited about this surprise for Hannah. Despite all their quarrels lately, he still must enjoy her company. This is the first time he's had to sound out words by himself and write them phonetically. I'd say he did a swell job. Interpretation: I am Thankful for Hannah because she plays with me.

Abraham's list of Gratitudes:
Truman
Mom
Jesus
Our Family
My new boots
My toys
The sky
My bed
