- It's cold! I'm so not ready for winter temperatures. When the kids go outside to play, Max comes in miserable. Then he needs mama to "Hold me!" ... see photo of Max whining in blue jacket. We've had lots of snuggles this week. I only hope this boy can survive when I'm in the hospital for 4 days.
- I took Abe to the doc today for a sinus infection. Every year he gets the runniest nose ever and it never goes away until we get antibiotic. I figured we better stop the runs before babe arrives. Even though he has bubblegum medicine, he still doesn't like it one bit.
- Some mini virus attacked our house last week. Max had a rash, Abe had a belly ache, Jimmy and I had mini colds. Nothing major exploded but I still feel under the weather. So I'm trying to rest all while trying to get loads of stuff accomplished. Yah - those 2 don't mix well. But I did finally clean out the semi-truck size closet of ours. Hannah was amazed that there was carpet in there. I've organized a few closets, cleaned off my bathroom counter (wow - it exists!!), etc. My house won't be completely spic-n-span, but it will hopefully be survivable and semi-pleasant.
- Look at that red tree in our front yard. I love it!!! It brings me joy.
- Hannah's been wiggling her front tooth all week long. She wants it to come out so much. Today she even prayed that it would 'come out now'. It has another day or two, I'm afraid. I will really miss that small, cute front tooth. She and Max were identifying nose and chin in the photo on the porch.
- And despite Max being extra clingy, he still is quite the funny and silly kiddo. He's been wearing flip-flops of Jimmy's and boots of mine all over the house. He has a slight cough which I hope dissolves itself before babe arrives. He also loves to collect rocks. The other day on the walk home from the bus stop he collected 5 rocks which he carried in his little hands. It brought him to tears to part with them on the front porch. Oh - sidenote... he's also doing better learning new words or at least trying to pronounce new things.
- Parent teacher conferences this week. Abe loved showing me his classroom and all the stuff. Hannah is doing an excellent job in reading and is enjoying her teacher and class (and especially school lunch!!). It was good to find out how the kids are behaving in school. We have lots to work on, but they are doing well overall and are enjoying school.
- Jimmy is being super dad by helping the kids get off to school in the morning. He's been extra patient with me as a huge prego lady. He's even endured my snoring (from my stuffed nose). Great day! Who knew I snored when I have a cold!
- Today Hannah saw the title on my blog - "I love my beautiful, ordinary life" and asked about it. I played her the song by Wayne Brady so she could hear that part. Then we listened to some fun tunes while she played with Max. I loved it!
- General Conference was good for me. I've had lots of love for my tots this week (hopefully displayed with slightly more patience - maybe??). I see such good qualities in each of them and I want them to find joy in obedience and goodness. My family is a JOY!
C-section is scheduled for Monday (that would be Columbus Day) about 6:30 a.m. The end of pregnancy is exciting and nerve-racking. I am always praying for a healthy baby and healthy madre and a safe surgery. I'm off to attempt to get some sleep now. Please pray I don't get Max's cough. Cough + major abdominal surgery = no bueno!!
