reality is ...

... there are ups and downs.

- Certainly true for female emotions.
- Certainly true after having a baby - those crazy hormones.
- Certainly true when there is CHANGE in a family.
- Certainly true when an almost 2-year-old thinks he should still fit on mom's lap with the infant.
- Certainly true when mom is resting and nursing and doesn't have as much time to spend with the older tots.

Overall, things are still good. But I do think I've felt a bucketload of feelings over the past two weeks.

Downs of
wondering if I'll ever be able to meet the needs of the other 5 people in my fam...
wondering how I'll get dinner made with a whining toddler, crying baby, and school kids needing homework help...
wondering if I'll ever get enough sleep to keep a goin' cheerfully...

Ups of
seeing delight on toddler's face when he gets to help burp the baby...
kisses on Truman's head from Max...
having girl talks with Hannah while laying down by her before bed...
hearing Abe's prayers for everyone's health, especially Truman...
knowing Jimmy is working so hard and trying to be patient with our crazy family...
knowing Christ can strengthen us to keep a goin' cheerfully.

Looks like the Ups outnumber the Downs...

After a not-so-good day at home with impatient, grouchy people, I need to know the sun will come out tomorrow and that positive energy will keep us all going.

Positive Energy... Positive Energy... Positive Energy......

May I find and maintain that Positive Energy.

You are one of the most positive persons I know. Hang in there, Mama!

oh what a blur those first 6 months are with a baby.

numb out...just numb out.

I feel so much guilt when I don't spend enough time with each child so I can almost feel what you feel- just not being able to be there all the time- just wanting to sleep

oh good luck- it will all soon pass and on to the next step. It will all work out because you are doing what you're supposed to be doing and Heavenly Father will bless that little family.
