Autumn in the Canyon

For our FHE tonight we drove up American Fork Canyon to see a few Autumn colors.

We stopped at Pine Hollow for a miniature hike/walk. We found leaves of every autumn color - pink, red, orange, yellow, green. The kids collected some that had fallen on the ground.

As for Max, he was content with his 'Bock' (the boy loves rocks!!). It was really busy with traffic and families taking photos but overall was fun to see the lovely trees.

Give that canyon another week and I think the colors will really be popping.
This is my favorite photo of the evening. The light really was shining through the trees just like that... so lovely.Abe had a stomach ache and headache the entire time (you can tell he doesn't feel well - poor kid!). Hannah was about laying on my belly. And Max kept hopping in and out of the shot but eventually ended up in this shot.

I love being a mama. It's hard some days and I wish I had more patience so I could teach and love as I ought ... but I sure love these kids with all my heart.

On the drive home Jimmy had the idea to stop and get some 99 cent Frosties at Wendy's. Ice cream, autumn leaves, primary songs, family ... a good fhe activity.
