a little quirky

This photo illustrates one of my problems with exercise. I'm extremely pigeon-toed. Ok - I was exaggerating a little in this photo, but this really is a comfortable and common position for me.  Jimmy wonders about this trait of mine.  I have high arches, skinny heels, and I'm slightly pronated. So it takes just the right shoe to balance out my wacky feet.

I'm not sure if my pigeon-toed-ness is the reason I have a crazy time balancing on the Interactive Trainer (otherwise known as my treadmill).  I can't watch tv or turn my head or look out the window.  I focus my eyes on one spot so that I can see my speed and my feet so I don't topple off.  Go Heather!

Why am I blogging this?  Well - I was tagged a while ago to list 6 quirky things about myself.  I wasn't sure which to list, so I thought I'd stick with the quirkiest of all.

Unfortunately, I've passed this quirky physical trait onto my Max.  In the post below you can see his feetsies are turned inward.  Poor babe ~ sorry 'bout that!

Both my husband and I wore braces on our legs to correct pigeon toes......I haven't heard of this for awhile. Maybe they don't do that anymore. Thank goodness! It was a little traumatic to wear those braces to school!
