Gratitude - N

Last week in preschool, Abe learned about the letter N. So, one night we were listing things we were grateful for that began with N. We came up with needle, nail, nose, neptune, net, noodles.

But today I'm going to have to go with gratitude for Nickeled Names. Abe always says his Nickeled name is Russel (I think Nickeled is a combo of nickname and middle name.  Russel is his middle name in reality).  It's funny to me.

One of my favorite nicknames lately is DoNker. For some reason when I was typing on google-talk with Jane, I typed 'pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey' ... only ... with my excellent typing skills, I typed 'doNker.' We had a good laugh about it. Then she started calling me doNker and vice-versa.  Oh the silly things we do!

Other nicknames I've had are
Irma (in the 4th grade I thought that was a name of a Hawaiian Island)
heath-beath (from Steph-a-roonie)
heather bear (the family favorite)
heifer (thanks to Dave in the 4th grade)
heatha bee (by Grandpa Nelson & cousin Daniel)
heath-bar (by my roomie Ali Bytendorp at BYU)

Anyhooo... names are fun. I love that names fit in families so well and it's fun to see what people name their babies.

p.s.  we think that Max can say HaNNah's name.  He crawls around saying Hannah until he finds her.  Just wait until he learns to say doNker.  Now that will be somethin'.  Jane will laugh and laugh.

p.p.s.  i may be a little looNey today as you can tell from my nickled name post.  Happy moNday!
