ha-ha-halloween

I'm not a huge fan of Halloween. I quite despise the icky part of it (the house by the bus stop has the most dreadful violent creepy decorations ever). I'm afraid I'm a big-bah-humbug about it all. I just don't get the entire walk around the neighborhood begging for candy idea.  Autumn and pumpkins I love - but I could do without Halloween.

But I have attempted to be a nice mother and help the kids enjoy themselves with the fun, good stuff about Halloween.

like ...

Visiting Grandma Beck. She has the coolest Witch Hat that lights up. And when you push her purple nose, it sings some Halloween tune. I love that she even had striped socks on to finish off the witch costume. She's a 91-year-old lady with style!

Making ghost pancakes for breakfast. Boo! Thanks for the idea Coralee & Gourmet Mom

First scrubbing, then decorating the front door with all sorts of preschool/kindergarten Halloween art projects.
Dressing up - Hannah was a garden fairy.

Abe was Earth Ace from Planet Heroes (Yes - I realize that the 3 on his costume is backwards. Abe's genious mother forgot to flip-horizontal the image before printing. She also didn't realize it was wrong until after she ironed it on. The best part was that neither of the kids noticed it was backwards!)

Max was a jack-o-lantern. He didn't eat any candy. :)

The kids experienced their first time trick-or-treating. Up until now, we always had Trunk-or-treat with our ward so we've never taken them out before. They each got 20 pieces of candy and they think they are loaded. Oh - the joys!

It is so fun to see all the little tiny tots in their cute costumes.   My kids love answering the door and handing out candy.

We have the tradition to carve a pumpkin with Jimmy. Hannah drew the design and Jimmy cut it out for her.

Good-bye Halloween... Hello Thanksgiving and Christmas!

I don't love Halloween either, but I do it for my kids. I love to decorate with pumpkins and just leave them out all through October and November. Their costumes were really cute.

Fun costumes, Heath! I'm beyond impressed that you printed and ironed Abe's costume. Hannah looks so darling. And so cute of Max there between the kids. Happy Halloween!

I'm with Carol on the whole printing/ironing thing. Wow. I never would have noticed the backwards 3 either! Hannah looked lovely, Abe very masculine, and Max just cute. Those kids of yours are growing up!
