The time has arrived...

...to send my 1st born to school. Why is it so hard to send the first one off? Or is it just because she's my sweet Hannah Mae and I don't want her to be hardened by mean school kids and the world?

All morning long she planned everything about what she would wear and what she would do and the routine. We painted fingernails and ate lunch. And then we were off to the bus stop. She was very excited.
We waited and waited and waited at the bus stop until 8 minutes before school started and then I finally decided to just drive her so she wouldn't be late. There weren't any other kids at our bus stop so I wasn't sure if we had missed it or not. Turns out all the buses were extremely late today. But how is this mother supposed to know these things? I've never taken the bus before.

Here are the classmates waiting in line to go into their class. Can we just say that they all look shy and nervous? Isn't that boy looking up a cutie?
Hark! They hear the teacher's voice. Even the hottie boy looks nervous now.
I, like Mary, am extremely grateful for large sunglasses because they hid at least most of my tears. Good grief Heather - she was only gone like 2 hours. I guess I just feel like I'm sending my child out into the unknown. She will survive this new adventure - probably better than her mother. We'll see how taking the bus goes tomorrow!

Heather, I've been waiting all day for this post! I almost emailed you to see if you were all still functioning after the first big day.

Hannah looked darling with her shiny hair and cute outfit. Painted nails go a long way to make a little girl feel pretty - don't they?

Good luck with the bus tomorrow. Aaahhh!!

A big day for both of you! First grade was actually harder for me with Braden because he was gone all day versus only a few hours. But it is still an emotional roller coaster, eh?

I think that Kendra has the exact same backpack as Hannah. Does it have a frog on it and is it from Target? Good taste Hannah and Heather!
