Telling a story

Once upon a time there was a little boy who broke his arm. He couldn't hold very still for a photo but he did enjoy holding the dandelion. He was worried about his shirt getting wet in the rain. But in the end, his real smile shone through because he was being a wee bit silly. THIS is his story:


A few gals have asked about how I create these framed group of photographs in a series. The entire idea is about Storyboards. I guess the concept is that you're showing a story through photos.

I'm not always the best at tutorials but I can lead you to the experts. Jessica Sprague has a tutorial on how to create a lovely little storyboard in Photoshop.

I love this clean simple style that focuses on the photos and journaling. My friend Shari Barnes (in Tennessee) started creating a Photo Book (vs. a traditional scrapbook with cutsy poo papers and elements). She of course, is a professional photographer and has has awesome photos. But I love the clean lines and simplicity of her pages.
My camera can't produce photos large enough to fill an 8x8 size page, but I do want to create this kind of style. No papers required which saves $$... and the focus is on the people and memories.

What if I used all my creative energy towards the words + the photos and forgot about the rest of the stuff for one week? Imagine if all that creative strength went into my story (or the way I take my photos) rather than worrying about matching patterned paper and choosing embellishments?

So yeah - telling a story through photos or words is something I enjoy doing. I guess that's all I have to say about that. Off to CREATE something fun....
