Bowl-A-Rama

We got this swell idea from Mary to go bowling. So we headed to BYU this morning for a family activity. The kids loved it. It was their first time bowling. Hannah is by far the BEST 5-year-old bowler in our family. Hannah preferred to use the bowlers metal guide thingie. She got 3 spares and 1 strike (on the 9th frame) for a total of 110 points. You go girlie! She said her favorite part was scoring all the points and wearing the fun shoes. She wants to buy some so she can wear them every day because she loved them so much.
Abe is by far the TOUGHEST 3-year-old bowler in our family. He lugged the 8 lb ball and then shoved it down the lane. Abe came in at 86 points. Not bad for a first time 3-year-old. He had some pretty slow rollers but he had a total blast especially enjoying fruit snacks in between bowls.Jimmy was just glad Hannah didn't pass him up and came in at 112. I just held Max and enjoyed watching the entire experience. He pretty much liked it all too.Hannah and Abe played a slow-paced air hockey game. Unfortunately the timer ran out before their game was finished. The score - 3 to 1 with Hannah in the lead. We had to teach Abe that it wasn't cool to make the hockey puck go into his own goal. Ouch!

Next we headed to the CougarEat Food Court and enjoyed a nice lunch. Hannah loved her Subway Sandwich and RedCreme soda. Max loved his bottle. And Abe loved...hmmm...what did Abe even eat??We decided to go check out the BYU Bookstore and all the cool stuff. Hannah and Abe found these cougar hats and paws. Rise and Shout, the Cougars are out...la-la-la-lah!!After the entire 'Y' experience, we got to see Aunt Julie's apartment and meet her pet turtle Testudo (affectionately named after the University of Maryland's Mascot).

I love family activities that actually turn out fun without everyone in tears and tantrums. And going to Provo makes me about giddy remembering all the fun times at BYU. I don't envy the college students with all the homework, tests, and dating woes, but it's fun to remember the happy times.

You have so many fun ideas of things to do with the kids! You have inspired us to take the kids bowling. Sounds like lots of fun.

We went too! I was horrible with the camera and just got in the way, so I finally gave up on that one. The kids think we should go every weekend now. It was really fun. Better cause I beat Jeff by like 3 pins. I'm so dang competitive!

One of my favorite things is kids in bowling shoes! It is so funny. Looks like you guys had a great time! I love fun family times like that too, when it ends up being truly fun with no whining, etc. You are such a cute family Heath!

P.S. I liked all your name posts below too. How creative! And that picture of Abe by his name post is one of the cutest baby pictures I've ever seen! I love it!
