That thought evolved to "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13. So really I need to rely and focus on Christ to strengthen me to do hard things in life.
One of the great tasks of our mortal life is to learn that, through the grace and mercy of Jesus Christ, we can climb every rock, or overcome every challenge, that we encounter. (Virginia Jensen)And that thought somehow evolved into a reminder of positive thinking and the tune of "I have confidence in Sunshine" referring to Maria VanTrapp's song:
What will this day be like? I wonder.Phew - that was a long song. Did you sing along? My concluding random thought is:
What will my future be? I wonder.
It could be so exciting to be out in the world, to be free
My heart should be wildly rejoicing
Oh, what's the matter with me?
I've always longed for adventure
To do the things I've never dared
And here I'm facing adventure
Then why am I so scared
Oh, I must stop these doubts, all these worries
If I don't I just know I'll turn back
I must dream of the things I am seeking
I am seeking the courage I lack
The courage to serve them with reliance
Face my mistakes without defiance
Show them I'm worthy
And while I show them
I'll show me
So, let them bring on all their problems
I'll do better than my best
I have confidence they'll put me to the test
But I'll make them see I have confidence in me
Somehow I will impress them
I will be firm but kind
And all those children (Heaven bless them!)
They will look up to me
And mind me with each step I am more certain
Everything will turn out fine
I have confidence the world can all be mine
They'll have to agree I have confidence in me
I have confidence in sunshine
I have confidence in rain
I have confidence that spring will come again
Besides which you see I have confidence in me
Strength doesn't lie in numbers
Strength doesn't lie in wealth
Strength lies in nights of peaceful slumbers
When you wake up -- Wake Up!
It tells me all I trust I lead my heart to
All I trust becomes my own
I have confidence in confidence alone
(Oh help!)
I have confidence in confidence alone
Besides which you see I have confidence in me!
"Yes, we WILL make it through the hard things in life with Christ leading the way, a few nights of peaceful slumber (quite a trick for me), confidence in ourselves and those around us, and hope that sometime soon the path may not be so rocky."Is my path rocky? Eh - a little, but not too much. It definitely could be worse... for I am so blessed. The end of randomness for tonight.

I love this post. Thank you Heather! I have never read that song from the eye of a Mother, how applicable it is. YOU CAN DO IT. Love you!
YES! I did sing along. .. and now I'm going to have that song stuck in my head for the rest of the night. The applications from the Sound of Music are endless. . . like "How do you solve a problem like [Sammy]?" who unfortunately decides half way home from school that he has to go to the bathroom and can't wait another second, so what does he do. . . he lays on the path and cries. That is when the line comes in handy, "[Sammy] makes me laugh!"
Yea for random encouraging thoughts!
