"Go West," they said, "Go West!"

(Is that a quote from somewhere or did I make it up?) And so this family has decided to follow 'they' (whoever they is) and Go West! Yep, you've got it! We are moving to Utah. Jimmy has accepted a job in the Information Computer Systems department at Church Headquarters as a Website Product Manager and will start the first part of January. Anyone wanna buy our house? It's nice and cozy! (please pray for a miracle that it will sell - please!)

The question in my mind is how we're going to have a baby, recover from a c-section, take care of 3 kiddos, sell our house, and move across the country in 2 months without bucketloads of blood, sweat, and tears. Any ideas? I suppose we'll start by doing one thing at a time and that will be the key to emotional and physical survival. One blessing is that the church is paying for packers and movers (something I didn't think would happen).

The timing seems crazy but the long-term opportunity seems fun. I was thinking about the pioneers who ventured West in the wildest of circumstances and I feel grateful that at least I won't be having this baby in the back of a wagon in the middle of the winter, that we can fly to Utah instead of walking barefoot, and that we aren't being persecuted and driven out of Tennessee - that we are choosing this course.

There are a few things I'll miss about our life here: the kids preschool is so perfect for them and their needs, our sweetest friends in our ward, our cute house and big backyard, and the tornadoes (ok - scratch that last one). But we are looking forward to living closer to Grandma & Grandpa Price, Jimmy's siblings at BYU, other family in the vicinity of Idaho and Utah, hiking in the mountains, and living in an area with family friendly activities.

Hopefully our family will be up for this adventure as we get ready to "Pack 'Em Up and Move 'Em Out" as we head westward ho.

That will be so nice to be able to live closer to home. We had to move just after we had our 2nd baby, it was crazy but it all worked out. I'm sure it will for you guys also. Good luck with everything.

Heather--I am glad you will be closer. Then we can see you more than once in every 5 years. Good luck with the baby. I had Abby December 17th and we moved from St Louis to Oregon on January 1st. But I didn't have a c-section. The move was crazy, but turned out to be not too stressful.

WHAT????????Wow, I wasn't expecting to read that on your blog today. I'm so bummed. I'm really going to miss you. You were the very first person to introduce yourself to me at church and I'm never going to forget that. Please, please, please don't hesitate to call me to help. I'm here for you. I'm excited for you guys and being a Utah native a little jealous too. Oh my gosh, who's going to do all of my artsy computer work for me. Kidding! Congrats on the job!

Wow, you sure have a lot going on in your little family. Congrats on Jimmy's new job. Sounds like a great opportunity. I'm so jealous, you will be living closer to family. I've been dying to move closer to home, but the latest job offers are not any closer than we are right now. Enjoy your time in Utah. Good luck with the baby and moving. I'm sure everything will work out for you all.
