Hannah sure had a glorious day for her 5th birthday. First off she opened her presents. She said that she got just what she wanted. She had 2 totally great cards from grandmas. One had musical tunes and words from Cinderella and the other was Tweety bird saying, "Wishing you wots and wots of wuv." (She laughed about that one for hours). She was a sweetheart and wanted to give Abe a little present so he wouldn't feel left out. He didn't mind that one bit.
German pancakes was the requested breakfast, so that was a tasty start to the day. For lunch she had a kids meal free of charge from Sonic for the birthday child. She asked for root beer in a kids cup with very little ice. Her newest favorite food is hamburgers with bun, patty, lettuce, and pickles. She invited her friend Abbey over to play for a few hours and they watched the ever so glorious Barbie Island Princess and decorated some cupcakes. Next we headed to Target to pick out her $5 prize from Grandma Smith. Five dollars sure seems like a lot to a little kid. She was so thrilled to have her own bag and her own receipt.
Dinnertime brought chicken fajitas. This mama just could not get the strawberry cake out of the pan in one piece and at first Hannah was sad. Then she perked up and said, "Well, we can just make it a smiley face cake." So I pieced it together and slathered it with chocolate icing. Miss Hannah decorated the cake as she wanted and enjoyed every minute of it (an entirely different plan that I had, but oh well). With a cup of milk, vanilla ice cream and a huge piece of cake in her tummy, she went to bed a happy little five-year-old. We so appreciate Hannah's bright self. She is a happy little soul and we love her!

Happy birthday Hannah Mae!!
Sounds like she had a fun day. That's cute that she didn't mind the change of plans with her cake and even came up with a solution! She's great! I loved her comment about not being born on her birthday. Too funny.
What a fun birthday! Happy 5 Hannah Mae! I love her beautiful brown eyes. I'm so glad she is such a happy little person that makes the best of each situation and was happy to decorate her crumbled cake. What a sweetheart!
Happy Birthday Hannah, you now share a B-day with baby boy Schooley. Hannah sure is a sweet girl. Sound like she had a great day. Oh the good old days when Birthday's were exciting, I sometimes wish I could go back to the simple life of a kid.
i love the chocolate in the corners of her mouth pictures. . . a girl after my own heart. glad to hear that she had a great day. why-o-why do we lose that as grown-ups? i guess because we don't live with our mothers who make sure we have a special day by making us breakfast and cakes and such. thank goodness for mothers!
FUN day! Nice of you to make it so perfect, Heath!
