I'd build us a gigantuous in-house storage room (oh, also a normal size house to go with it - 4 bedrooms with a bonus room on 1/2 acre would do). This weekend I sorted and purged and organized a bunch of stuff. And all the while, I was dreaming of a really cool storage room... one where I could easily find that one bin I need instead of having to climb the pull-down stairs into my attic and search. I love containerizing similar items into clear bins which makes searching easier but if I could have it all in a cool room like this, that would be swell. Sealed and painted with carpet and air conditioning would be awesome too.
As for a pantry... I think I could go for this one. Just today I was making Carol's scrumptious Pumpkin Cake (I posted it on the recipe blog for any who don't have the recipe yet)... and as I was making the frosting, I realized I only had about 1/2 the powdered sugar the recipe called for. Luckily I found a spare package hiding up by my cold cereal. But then I started dreaming of a huge pantry and one of these Shelf Reliance Storage Systems to organize our food. I would love such an organized and large pantry where I could actually have room to buy extras of common food items and then of course, cans of food storage. In the reality of life, we are constantly reminded of the phrase, "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without." So I guess for now I'll purge and sort and organize the best I can in the space and with the resources I have. Why doesn't anyone build homes with storage space?

Hear, Hear! Is that right? Saying it loud with a british accent? Anyway, we are one of those people who built a house with little storage space and a smaller pantry than our itty-bitty house in Ammon. What?? You should see Sister Kinghorn's new pantry. It actually has stairs you walk down to get in it with a vaulted ceiling. Awesome. Also, we LOVE the pumpkin cake. Perfect fall recipe.
I so get what you mean about homes not having enough storage. I love that you're dreaming big but making the most of reality. I hope eventually your reality gets closer to your dream!
Oh I so agree. I love my house right now, however, I have no pantry (we bought one of those free standing ones at Shopko instead) and very little closet space. VERY frustrating. The pic of that storage room is awesome! Like you said, just making do is all we can do...purge and purge again. Nothing like a little organization to clear the head and the soul!
These are all my dream storage rooms. For now we use our basement, but I would love to have a great room like these with all the nice shelves. Awesome! Your pumpkin cake recipe looks heavenly. Mmm!
Amazing storage options you found, Heath. I love 'em!
