I laughed really hard...

when I viewed these photos of our family taken this morning(especially the main one with Abe's new frozen smile & the top headless one taken by Abe). These photos are just like real-life with our family.
  • Abe trying really hard to happily participate, but adding his funny/silly 3-year-old personality, his favorite red Waldo shirt, and frozen smile (we tried to get him to laugh by saying "say gobble, gobble, gobble" since he loves Turkeys these days but he just kept that smile on for a while.)
  • Hannah sparkling. (She did request a ponytail for picture day. She must be her mother's daughter.)
  • Mom's shirt bulging from pregnancy. Why is it that they make shirts so skin-tight these days? We're going to have to do something about that one.
  • Jimmy kindly took an extra 5 minutes out of his busy day to take some photos instead of getting to work a little earlier. Thanks Hon for enduring my maniac camera moments!
I don't know if we'll ever have a family photo where we all look our best, but for now we'll have to celebrate our ordinary moments of non-perfect photos (for we sure have many).

This reminds me of the quote on our calendar this month by President James E. Faust:
"We perhaps need to snatch happiness in little pieces, learning to recognize the elements of happiness and then treasuring them while they last."
Hannah won the funny quote for the day (told to our carpool friend's mom):
"My dad has to go to Utah to put food on our table."

... Explanation... Last night Hannah asked Jimmy why he's had to go on so many business trips. He explained that we have to have money to pay for food, and that FedEx pays him money to work all day. So, in the end, going on business trips means we can have food on our table. Our friend thought he was going all the way to Utah to buy food storage for us. That would make for one heavy suitcase.

I loved the photos along with your insight about each one. You have such a cute family. I also loved Hannah's comment! What DO Dads do all day? It is hard for kids to understand. Elise wonders what Tyler DOES at school ALL day. . .:)

you scrapbook your pictures right after you take them? I'm so impressed. I'm a couple years behind. I have a question for you, do you do all your digital scrapbooking from photoshop? With Heritage Makers, we have to pay a monthly fee and I'm trying to get away from that. It might be worth it to buy photoshop.
