Getting there

Yes folks, I have about 10 weeks to go until this babe arrives. (Ok - technically I'm 11 1/2 weeks from my due date. But since I figure they'll do my c-section a week before, I can start counting down at 10 this week.) Yippee! I had a doctor's appointment today and now I start going every 2 weeks. My doctor is really nice and takes time to listen to my woeful pregnancy worries. He assured me that my uterus will not pop (and I'm sure he was laughing at me too). I know - I'm a nerd. But I feel so huge and I wonder how my belly can keep growing bigger and bigger ('to crash into the wall bigger' - as Abe puts it). Abe had a jolly time 'beeping' my belly button since he could feel it bulging through my shirt. Always a nice thing when the belly button inverts! And I've officially passed Jimmy on weight as of today. That's really no bueno - but 'tis reality, I'm afraid at this point. "Jack sprat could eat no fat, his wife could eat no lean..." And I walk like I'm 10 months pregnant - I'm not kidding. Could I go any slower?

So with 10 weeks to go, I'm thinkin' I need to assemble a 'To-Do' list and take some serious action getting things checked off. We've got Hannah's birthday, the holidays, gifts to purchase, closets to sort through, junk to toss, holiday cards for SFD, naps to take, newborn clothes to wash, and merely organize my entire life so I'll be able to handle 3 kids, a husband, and a life without breaking down in tears every moment. Hmmm... can I do it? As I always remind Abe to think positively... "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can."

p.s. a boy in preschool kissed hannah on the cheek today. SHOCKING! She was backing up so he wouldn't, but she obviously wasn't fiesty enough. But I taught her to push those boys away hard and I rehearsed with her the words, "I am saving my kisses for my husband. Do not kiss me." and then report the boy to the teacher. (she really got a big kick and a good belly laugh about the saving kisses part. But she practiced saying it with gusto anyways!) Ay-ay-ay!

How could the boys NOT kiss Hannah Mae! She's so darn cute! I saved all my kisses for my husband...oh wait. HOORAY for the 10 week mark! I love that Abe was 'beeping' your belly button. That's so funny. Better than making beeping noises when you back up! I swear somebody did that in the store when I was preggo with the twins. Mean!! Sounds like you've got a busy few months ahead. Good luck and don't try to tackle it all at once!!

If Abe only knew to beep when I backed up - I'm sure he'd do it. Your comment made me laugh way too hard!

Yah, 10 weeks will be here before you know it. Good luck getting everything done that you need to, but don't stress over getting it done. We should start a mother's support group for those of us with 3 young kids. I'm not suprised over Hannah's first kiss, I'm afraid she is going to be a heart breaker. I love the way you have taught her to avoid them. I need pointers on how to teach my boys not to kiss the girls.

Heather, Porter was born when I had 10 weeks left. So your babe is perfect in every way, although tiny. Whenever I hear someone has 10 weeks left I remember how tiny but how perfect he was (and he still is small for his age.) Anyway, great job telling Hannah how to avoid those kissing boys. Kyler kissed our neighbor last week and her mom called to tell me and I was shocked. Yikes! I really have no idea why he would have done that. I asked him why he kissed her and he said innocently, "Because I love her." Oh my goodness. I told him we just kiss people in our family and we wait to kiss others until we're married. Too funny. Anyway, way to go Hannah!

Ha, ha! I could totally picture you saying, "SAVE YOUR KISSES!" to sweet little Hannah. Oh, it's going to be a fun ride... can't wait for those teenage years. Yikes!

Wahoo. Wahoo. Wahoo for 10 weeks. What a milestone.

I'd say kiss away!!! When are kisses so innocent and sincere? (and slobbery? . . . that alone might just curb Hannah's desire all together). Before long boys will have cooties. . . and you can just encourage that for the next 10 years.

Every now and then, especially when I'm pregnant, I think Eric has a few cooties of his own.

Hannah practiced her kisses comment on me on the phone--she giggled at the saving the kisses part! So funny.

You're going to make it, Heath! You are a super mama!

Oh, and I think your belly button is everted now. Innies are inverted, and outies are everted. Mine is always an outie (i'm sure you all wanted to know that) but is WAY so with a pregnant belly. Good recording the moment there, Heath!
