Jimmy arrived home today from a 3-day business trip for FedEx in Detroit. He attended and helped with an NFL event that FedEx was hosting for customers. Abe loved the mini football helmet Jimmy brought home. When we told Hannah that Daddy was going to Detroit, she thought he was going to be destroyed (Detroit? Destroy?). And she asked if Dragons lived there. Luckily he was safe and did not spot any dragons.
We were all so glad Jimmy caught an earlier flight home so we could have more time to celebrate his birthday. Happy 31st My love! After picking him up at the airport, we headed to Outback Steakhouse for a tasty celebration lunch and then Jimmy got to pick Hannah up for preschool. She was overjoyed to see him. This evening Abe was racing to the back door to go play outside with Jimmy. He tripped and totally smacked his head on the wall with a loud thud. Poor kiddo!
We took this first goose-egg picture within a minute of it happening so we could email it to nurse Amy to see if we needed to take him in to the doctor. It scared the daylights out of me as we've never had such an instant gigantic head injury with our kids. Poor Amy always gets a million medical questions from me. It's probably a good thing I'm not the nurse...though perhaps, I wouldn't be so emotional and tearful if it wasn't my own child. We iced it and gave him tylenol. Hannah drew Abe a get-well note and got his pillow. Within an hour, he was feeling much better. We had cupcakes and sang happy birthday and all blew out a candle.
This last photo is my favorite. It is a reminder to me of how much fun the kids have with their daddy. Jimmy is a super dad and hubby and we love him so much! Happy Birthday!

Oh no, poor Abe! That's what happened to Marissa a while back... turned her eye black the next day. Good thing they heal fast.
I love that last picture too. So cute!
Aw, glad it turned out to be a good day. Happy Day, Jimmy!
What a sweet family. I am so happy your little boy is o.k. I love when husbands get home early from business trips. Happy Birthday to your husband!
Happy Birthday Jimmy!! Hope you had a great day. Poor Abe. Bumps that big scare me too. You just wonder how their brains will ever survive!
I'm glad Jimmy was not destroyed. So, you are already at your 31st anniversary! Time flies for some people I guess. Amy and I just hit 16 is all.
Yes, happy birthday (from a stranger)! *B
