Today I had an experience with a stranger saying unkind words to me. After bravely surviving the rest of our outing, I cried it out for a few hours at home. Even though sometimes I wish I could think of witty remarks to spew back at rude people sometimes, in the end I realize that stooping to that low level is not the best choice. So through all my tears this afternoon, I thought about kindness and the power that compassion can have on people. Thinking of kindness and compassion bring to mind our Savior and the love and service He showed to everyone. So today's lesson for me is that KINDNESS MATTERS. I can't change others but I can change how kind and compassionate I am to those around me.

Bummer, Heather. What happened? Reminds me of "You've Got Mail" when Meg Ryan's character finally finds a witty insult and instantly regrets it. So, good job for being the bigger person and taking the higher road! We love ya!
I don't get why people, especially strangers, feel the need to be mean! It seems like I've "seen" a lot of it lately... but good for you for taking the higher road. I'm sorry you were hurt, you poor dear heart! Thanks so much for sharing your sweet spirit with the rest of us. You're always such a good example. *B
I don't know how anyone could be mean to you, dear sweet Heather. I think our world is so impersonal. I know I get frustrated with other drivers or whatever, unless I know who it is and then I totally will let them get ahead of me, or whatever. Everyone in the world definately needs to remember that Kindness Matters! It sure would make a difference.
Beautiful quote, painting and thoughts, Heath. A smile for you :)
