The Summary

Here's the Smith Family Summary for the past few days:
- Friday... date night. Oh yeah! Love that. Ate at the Olive Garden and went to the Temple. We are sooooo grateful to have a temple within 30 minutes of us. What a blessing!
- Saturday...washed the filthy car. ...Hannah drank bath water with black grime floating in it. Nasty!!! Why do kids do things like that?
- Jimmy hurt his lower back so badly that he couldn't stand or walk or hardly move for about 24 hours. This is the worst it has ever been for him. Thanks for our chiropractor friends who helped him and gave him a blessing on Sunday. He is finally on the mend and is walking slowly but surely. This incident has really made me appreciate all the wonderful things Jimmy does to keep our family going minute by minute. He is a great dad and when he is laid up, I realize how much work he does for all of us.
- Tonight for FHE we went to Brusters for Ice cream. When the kids do their little chores happily, we let them put these little colorful glass rocks in a jar and when the jar fills up we go to Brusters. So - good work kiddos. Hannah always wants cotton candy. Jimmy and I shared Chocolate Raspberry Truffle in a waffle cone which is by far my favorite. We used our spare change and I'm thinkin' that's a fun way to do family activities.
- When I let Abe hold a penny today he asked if it was Joseph Smith (we watched a fireside about Joseph Smith last night). I see the resemblance. We only wish everything Abe said and did was that clever or cute. Unfortunately he had a nasty tantrum in the parking lot of Brusters because he just really, really didn't want to hold hands with mom.
- Not much else happening with us here in Tennessee. Hannah and I went outside and enjoyed a nice quiet evening with great weather. I love pleasant weather and nature. Sigh...

Nice summary of real life Heather! So sorry Jimmy hurt his back. Hope he's on the mend. Your ice cream trip sounded fun. Way to go! Love you!!!

Sounds like quite the weekend, Heather. I like your "fill the jar" idea. I bet the kids love it. That's very observant of Abe to think J.S. was on the penny. How cute! Way to look for the good and enjoy the weather!

I love the rocks in a jar idea. I just might have to try something like that as an incentive for Heidi to help clean up more. And I am glad my kids aren't the only ones that drink nasty tub water. YUCK.

Heath, I love the jar idea too. I was thinking of doing something like that, what a great idea. And I love that Abe thought Abraham Lincoln was Joseph Smith! What a smart almost 3-year old! And what fun to go to Brusters for ice cream. And I hope Jimmy is feeling better!
