Middle of the night thoughts

This week I've had a hard time falling asleep and sleeping soundly due to some congestion and cough. Last night I think I only got 4 hours of sleep since I abruptly woke at 3 a.m and couldn't sleep for hours. On Sunday night as I was trying to go to sleep my mind wandered to some of my most embarrassing moments. I don't have many really mortifying ones, but I'm sure I've turned red in the face a few hundred times over small things.

But one moment would be singing a solo for Swing Choir. I am sooooo not a solo voice... and especially that I sang 'In my Own Little Corner' is so funny because I was so mild and meek as a mouse. And then we've got the tripping during Jr. Miss Pagaent practice and the high-heel wobble during the pagaent. That was a moment! And then tripping on the grocery sack when running back to my bedroom when I was 16 and falling flat on my face literally. I cried with embarrassment to trip in front of Amy's boyfriend?/fiance?/husband? Wade and the fam. And once I totally biffed it on the stairs at the Ricks library right in front of some boys. Funny that most of my moments involve tripping. Call me Grace!

So - I've included some songs on the Ipod from 1994 Swing Choir that remind me of funny times. I meant to get this up yesterday so that the Monday, Monday song would apply. And we all love 'I need a hero.' especially with the dance moves. Didn't quite get 'down by the old milll stream' or some of the others. And the last song is somehow in fast motion and sounds like the chipmunks(until I figure out how to fix it). It is called 3 a.m. in memory of my sleepless night. And at 3 a.m. I had 'Life is a highway' running through my mind from CARS that the kids listen to when dancing.

In other news: Abe learned to say his 'k' sound and now can say 'car' instead of 'har'. And he can say 'Ba-nana' instead of 'nana'. And last night he learned his 'h' sound so he can say 'Hannah' instead of 'nana'. This may not sound like much but he is slowly improving on his sounds. The insurance denied his speech therapy so we have to decide if we can pay for a few sessions. They said it wasn't medically necessary. Hannah has put together a play for Abe and I so I best be off.

Monday, Monday, Sometimes it just turns out that wayay ayyyyyy (ohhhh, oooo yeeeaahhhhhhhhhhhhaaaa aaa aaa):)

Can we ever forget the moments that swing choir brings to all of our hearts?

How do we say goodbye? When we never want it to end? why can't we just pretend? They'll never be a goodbye or farewell my friend.... :)

I tried to comment yesterday but it didn't work, so here is my second attempt.
Embarrassing moments... wish we could all forget them, but the do bring humor into our lives. At least we all have them. Thanks for the laugh.

Loved the thoughts on embarrassing moments--brought some of my own to mind. Fun songs--Wade can't believe I need a Hero was a Swing Choir song... And good job on the home speech therapy for Abe. Sounds like you are making great progress with him using your Sesame Street skills, Heath! Good job.

Too funny about the swing chior songs! That made me laugh to remember how funny they were. They bring back fun memories. I loved how fun it was and all the morning practices on the stage. I'm glad we all got to do that together!

And you're laying awake at 3 am thinking of all your embarrassing moments made me laugh. I do that sometimes too. It's a great way to pass the night. The tripping at Jr. Miss is a favorite memory! :) Thanks for making me laugh this morning.
