I've decided we need some plants in our house. Every time we move all my plants have to be thrown out. And our house has been without for many moons. Today the kids and I went to Lowe's to select from the slim pickin's at the plant department. January obviously isn't the prime time to buy plants. Hannah and Abe picked out (with help from me) the easy to grow Philodendrons. Hannah named her plant 'Rose.' Abe named his 'Plant.' We also got a Scheflera, a Mini Jade, and a mini Money Tree. Now the test is to see if we can keep our house plants alive. We bought these little pebbles to put on the bottom on the pots to help with drainage. And it said you could put them on top too. Is this a good idea? Any of you master gardeners know?

One of the ordinary moments that my kids celebrate is the sight of the mail-lady. Today Hannah checked the mail about 5 times while we were outside. Finally she showed up and the kids ran to greet her. These pictures were taken before the mail came. My kids are adorned in some pretty 'sa-weet' outfits today. I'm lovin' Abe's too-small sweats with his white socks. Obviously we're still working on the darks batch of laundry. And I told Hannah to dress warm so she layered up. Rock on Hannah!

Hannah's dresses crack me up! You have a charming mail box. :)
Oh, and excellent job on the plants! The rocks on top look really nice--I'm sure it's fine. What a fun thing for you all! Nice names for the plants, kids!!!
