My tradition of celebrating Australia Day began at BYU. We must have had a crummy day so I found a fun reason to celebrate. I got Mary a Red Gerbera Daisy and made a card and with my oh-so-excellent Australian Accent wished her 'Happy Australia Day'. So I've decided that every year I will celebrate this holiday just for fun. January definitely needs some perking up, doesn't it!! And ever since Grandma & Grandpa Beck served their mission there, I've always thought it was a cool place.So - here's the low-down on Australia Day, "Australia Day, January 26, is the biggest day of celebration in the country. On Australia Day we come together as a nation to celebrate what's great about Australia and being Australian. It's the day to reflect on what we have achieved and what we can be proud of in our great nation. It's the day for us to re-commit to making Australia an even better place for the future."
So practice your Australian accent and recommit to celebrate what's great about your day! And by Christine's request, we'll end with a short clip from Hannah Mae with the Hiccups.

I'm glad that you put a movie of Hannah,she is so cute. I didn't know there was a holiday called Australia Day. I'm going to tell my school and church class HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY 2007!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
